It used to be that if you were flying at the last minute, you had no choice or options than to spend a lot of money, but the Internet has made it possible to find cheap last minute flight prices even to Hawaii.

Priceline can work well with last minute seats that would be worth nothing if they were empty, but Hotwire should be your first check!.

My friend Cindy (who is also a Hawaii travel writer) swears by Hotwire for last minute flights to Hawaii. She says the prices are best if you are booking within 2 weeks.

Another Hawaii-specific last minute deals option is airtech. Airtech has been around for a long time, read about them here. Their prices are usually about around around $230 one way. The trick is, they find you a seat in a 4 day window so this is not going to be an option for everyone.

I always recommend Hawaiian Airlines from the west coast, even thought they aren’t known for their last minute prices. You could check though – sometimes they have some great deals!

I have done a precursory check of the prices available – and they are good. For example, full airfare and 5 nights at a top hotel in Waikiki for $744 per person from Seattle. That’s like getting the airfare for free. The risk is that everything is non-refundable, but if you are traveling at the last minute there is less of a chance this will matter.
