Flying into Oahu is generally easy and cheap (relatively). Oahu is the major hub that most visitors travel through to get wherever they are going. The major airport is Honolulu International Airport (airport code for Honolulu International Airport is HNL).

What Airlines Fly Direct to Oahu
The following airlines fly direct to Oahu from the U.S. Mainland:

Personally, I don’t recommend you go directly to the airlines sites to book your flights unless you are using miles to book your flights. I always recommend going to a fare compare engine, like expedia, and input your desired travel dates. This will give you an immediate idea of what kind of prices are available for your flight to Oahu.

Flights To Other Islands From Oahu
From here, you can stop your travels and hang out on Oahu, or you can head anywhere in the Hawaiian islands. These trips to any other island are called Island Hopping or Inter-Island Flights and will cost anywhere from occasional $60 ish (on sale) one way, to more than $100 one way.

Cheapest Flights to Oahu

So, about what kind of prices can you expect on Oahu Flights? Well, that depends on when you are flying and where you are coming from.

Generally, prices go up in the summer and around the major holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas and Spring Break. If gas prices are high, so are flight prices. If the kids are out of school, flight prices are up. You’ll get the best price breaks at least a month out, or less than two weeks out.

If I was planning a trip I would start watching prices right now to see what they generally are so I would know (and be able to jump on) a sale if I saw it. Besides the hotel room, the flights are generally the biggest expense of the vacation.

So, from the West Coast to Oahu, flight prices can drop down under $400 sometimes, especially during the slow season. Otherwise, $400 to $600 is normal roundtrip. From the East Coast, if you found something between $600 and $700 you’d be wise to jump on it. Occasionally, you’ll be paying upwards of $1300 roundtrip.

Being flexible with your travel dates (search at a consolidator like expedia and be sure to check the little box that says you are flexible and will travel anytime within a few day window will get you the best deals available around that time for sure.
